The German government has decided to outlaw the terrorist organization Hezbollah, Der Spiegel newspaper reported Thursday.

The move has reportedly been coordinated by the German foreign, interior, and justice ministries, and the decision will likely be announced next week.

According to Der Spiegel, the move would effectively ban all Hezbollah activities on German soil, including the waving of the group’s flag.

Like most EU members, until now, Germany only designated Hezbollah’s military wing as a terrorist entity. A complete EU-wide ban failed has failed numerous times in Brussels, mainly due to objections made by France.
