Elbit to Provide EW Suite for Portuguese Air Forces’ New Multi-Mission Aircraft

The Portuguese Ministry of Defense selected Elbit Systems to supply a complete Electronic Warfare (EW) suite for the Portuguese Air Forces’ (PtAF) new KC-390 multi-mission aircraft. Finalization of the contract is subject to completion of the Portuguese Government approval process.

The EW suite for the KC-390 aircraft will be comprised of radar and laser warning systems, an IR missile warning system, a countermeasures dispensing system, a directional IR countermeasures (DIRCM) system, and an active electronic countermeasures (AECM) system. The EW suite will provide the platforms with advanced protection to achieve the customer’s operational requirements, the company said.
