A foreign state staged the latest cyberattack on the Czech Foreign Ministry, a national security agency asserted.

The National Cyber and Information Security Service informed the Senate’s Committee for Defense and Security of its findings and on Tuesday. The allegedly responsible country was not specified.

The Czech Foreign Ministry was targeted by the cyberattack in June, with no confidential data having been compromised, according to media reports.

Earlier, the Czech daily Denik N reported that the cyberattack on the Foreign Ministry was most probably the work of Russia’s military intelligence service, the GRU. The news website said this had been confirmed by three “very knowledgeable sources dealing with the incident.”
