The Ministry of Defense of Poland has signed a contract with the Polish Company Bumar-Łabędy Mechanical Plants to modernize the Army’s fleet of T-72 main battle tanks, according to Army Recognition.
In September 2018, Monch reported that the upgrade would include several components by Elbit Systems, including a Thermal Imaging Fire Control System – Gunner Sight (TIFCS-GS) and a remote controlled weapon station (RCWS). However, sources familiar with the matter told IsraelDefense that Poland opted for a more basic upgrade that does not include Elbit’s components.
