Cybertech Midwest Attracts Thousands to Indianapolis

Following last year’s successful debut, Cybertech returned to Indiana for a two-day event featuring an insightful conference, a unique exhibition of cutting-edge solutions, and a networking platform for a wide range of stakeholders in the cyber realm

Thousands of people from around the world gathered in Indianapolis on July 24-25 to take part in Cybertech Midwest 2019, including hundreds of top global executives, government officials, and key players in the cyber arena.

Conference participants enjoyed fascinating speeches and panel discussions on the challenges and opportunities in the cyber world, and visited a unique exhibition in which leading companies and organizations, as well as promising startups, showcased their innovative cyber solutions and innovations.

The event also featured special sessions on cybersecurity across a broad range of sectors, including Cybersecurity at the State Level, Cyber Insurance, CyberMed, and Communication in the IoT Era.

High-profile speakers and panelists from the public and private sectors addressed the most trending topics in the cyber arena throughout the two-day event. Among the speakers were Suzanne Crouch, Lieutenant Governor of Indiana; Aviv Ezra, Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest; Brig. Gen. (res.) Ran Shahor, former commander of the IDF’s Special Operations Directorate and co-founder & CEO of HolistiCyber; and many more.

During a speech on the first day of the conference, Rolls-Royce defense programs president Phil Burkholder announced a partnership with Purdue University, which would focus on developing better training techniques to improve cybersecurity.

“We are under attack,” said Gen. (ret.) Wesley Clark, Chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, who discussed the Russian doctrine of targeting democracies with cyberattacks and sabotage.

Israeli companies had a large presence at the event, and the Israeli pavilion drew much attention from visitors.

The State of Indiana was represented by a large delegation, led by Gov. Eric Holcomb and Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, which included Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger, CIO Dewand Neely, Cybersecurity Program Director Chetrice Mosley, Executive Director of the Department of Homeland Security Bryan Langley, CISO Bryan Sacks, CTO Joseph Cudby, and others.
