Israel-based Fab Defense, one of the world's leading companies in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of light weapon accessories, is unveiling the Vanguard in the IWA 2019 exhibition, currently taking place in Nurnberg Germany. The Vanguard is a new handguard for AK-47, AKM and AK-74 rifles and their modern versions.

This is the first time Fab Defense has introduced a handguard with an M-LOK system. The handguard is characterized by a minimalist and lightweight profile with a polymer heat shield designed for prolonged firing and consists of composite materials for improved durability and strength without sacrificing weight. The handguard is marketed with a set of three "Picatinny" rails for users who do not have M-LOK compatible accessories on the handguard.

According to Fab Defense officials, "The M-LOK system has established its status in recent years as an effective alternative to the existing 'Picatinny' standard, and in accordance with customers’ demand, the Company is proud and pleased to present the first product that supports this standard."

In addition, the company unveiled in IWA 2019 the MANTIS, a lightweight modern sniping table already in use by military units in Israel and abroad. The table is designed to provide a response to sniper teams in modern warfare, characterized by diverse terrain, from open spaces to urban areas.

"The light weight and ease of operation of the MANTIS make it attractive to infantry and special units that require the easiest and most reliable equipment to carry long distances while carrying out the mission," company sources told IsraelDefense.
