Elbit Delivers Additional Artillery Guns, Mortars to Thailand

In all, the company will supply more than 40 ATMOS artillery systems to the Thai Army and Marine Corps

Elbit Systems has provided the Thai Army with another batch of ATMOS artillery systems and mortars, according to pantip.com. Technology transferred from Elbit allowed parts of the hardware to be manufactured in Thailand. The 52-caliber guns have a range of up to 40 kilometers, the report adds.

As part of the agreement, the Army received 12 guns for the 721 artillery battalion, and the service reportedly plans to buy additional 36 systems for other units. The Royal Thai Marine Corps is also expected to receive six ATMOS systems as part of a deal valued at $26 million.

In addition to the artillery systems, Elbit supplied the Thai Army with 120mm Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortars (ATMMs), mounted on TATA LPTA 715 4x4 utility trucks.
