Forty Philippine government agencies that are critical to national security and economic stability are to be covered and protected by a new system that will monitor and respond to threats to their cyber operations, ABS-CBN News reported.

The National Cybersecurity Management System will be implemented by Israeli company Verint, and its Filipino joint venture partner ICS.

"They (Verint) are experts in cyberintelligence, threat monitoring. And also ICS has 30 years experience in IT," said DICT Assistant Secretary Allan Cabanlong.

The Department of Information and Communication Technology claims the system will enable near-real-time monitoring of cyber threats originating from within and outside the Philippines.
