T9Design, an Israeli developer and manufacturer of technical textiles in the security and civilian fields, recently revealed a new vest for Special Forces and intelligence units, called “Canaan.”

The new vest was developed in cooperation with certain IDF combat units, pursuant to their operational requirements with the goal of making movements and prolonged actions easier for combatants carrying a vest containing protection plates. The vest was tested in a wide range of operational scenarios, including urban warfare, open-field warfare, and prolonged operations in a standing position.

“Canaan” is a modular vest with designated pockets for inserting ceramic plates for ballistic protection, in addition to designated pockets for side protection. The vest has three-dimensional ergonomic webbing, with optimal adaptation to the structure of the back. This adaptation creates an ideal center of gravity and dispersion of the support and softening while relating to passing air and transferring the body heat emitted from the combatant.

Currently, the company is in contact with various elite units throughout the world which have shown interest in the vest.

“The development of the ‘Canaan’ vest is in line with our years-long goal of identifying tactical needs and provide them with high-quality, creative solutions,” said T9Design CEO, Liran Cohen.
