Top 100 Defense Companies in 2018

Defense News has published its list of top 100 defense companies by revenue for 2018.

US companies occupy five of the top six slots: Lockheed Martin (1), Raytheon (2), Northrop Grumman (4), Boeing (5), and General Dynamics (6). The UK-based BAE Systems ranks third in the list.

Four Israeli defense contractors are among the top 100 in the world. Elbit Systems is the leading Israeli defense company according to the index, occupying the 28th place. Israel Aerospace Industries is ranked 39th, while Rafael Advanced Defense Systems takes the 42nd place. IMI Systems ranks 86th. It is safe to assume that next year, following the expected acquisition of IMI, Elbit will climb up the list.

Six Russian companies are ranked in the top 50 slots: Almaz-Antey (8), United Aircraft Corp. (14), Russian Helicopters (36), Uralvagonzavod (46), and Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies, JSC (48).
