The Royal Thai Marine Corps plans to acquire 155mm/52 Autonomous Truck-Mounted Gun (ATMG) from Elbit Systems, Israel. The guns will be assigned to the Royal Thai Marine Corps defending the Eastern border with Cambodia. The Royal Thai Marine Corps are already in negotiations for the required options and assembly of the gun systems.
The ATMG entered service with the Royal Thai Army in 2015 and is currently considered to be one of the most advanced weapons systems. The Royal Thai Marine Corps currently field 12 155mm GC-45 towed howitzer since 1980 and 6 GHN-45 A1 APU since 1988.
In 2015, Elbit provided about 18 ATMOS guns to the Royal Thai Army.
