According to publications on global websites, the Israeli company Aeronautics has won a large tender in Finland for supplying 30-45 tactical UAVs to Finland’s Ground Forces with an estimated value of $20-30 million.

According to the publications, Aeronautics will be providing its Orbiter UAV. This deal could represent a doorway for additional deals in Finland and in other countries such as African countries, which have become an important goal for the Israeli defense industries.

Three Israeli companies competed in the tender, which began a year ago – Aeronautics, Elbit Systems and BlueBird. It was learned on August 2011 that Aeronautics and BlueBird were the final candidates. As stated, according to global publications, including the Military Photos website, the Finnish Defense Minister informed Aeronautics of the important win several days ago.
