Oren Sagi, the Managing Director of Cisco, spoke on the joint stage of Cybertech Global Tel Aviv and Sparks Innovation Summit this morning (Wednesday) about what Israel’s high-tech and business sectors have done for the civilians of Israel since October 7th.

“We all have personal stories and know people who were killed and murdered in the war. Part of our responsibility as the high-tech sector is to step in and fill the gaps, try to help people overcome this unprecedented trauma,” he said, going on to share stories of how Cisco has helped the refugees of Kibbutz Re’im with their short, medium and long-term needs following their evacuation to Eilat – from clothing and food on the first days, to long-term housing for the foreseeable future.

“As a business sector, we understand the need to come together, but no company can do it alone. We asked members of the Business Forum to join us and established organizations such as the Business Alliance. We were joined by 150 business companies in Israel.

“We see the power of innovation during this time of crisis. As we mourn the losses, we can be proud of what the business and tech sector has achieved, and I would like to encourage us all to continue giving and acting. We have a lot of work ahead.”
