Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security assessment at the headquarters of the IDF Gaza Division, with the participation of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat, ISA Director Nadav Argaman, and senior security establishment officials.

Following the security assessment, Netanyahu said, “Israel views with utmost gravity the attacks against it on the fence, on the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip, on Be'er-Sheva – everywhere. I said, at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting, that if these attacks do not stop – we will stop them. I want to tell you today as well – Israel will take very strong action.”

The Security Cabinet will convene on Wednesday afternoon following the escalation on the southern border triggered by a rocket fire on the city of Be’er-Sheva that hit a residential home. In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force struck 20 targets in Gaza.
