Trident Juncture 2018, NATO’s largest military exercise since 2002, will be held from October 25 to November 7, with more than 40,000 personnel from 30 NATO and partner counties participating.
“All Allies, as well as partners Finland and Sweden, will participate in NATO’s largest military exercise in recent years, which will take place in Norway in October-November,” a NATO statement said. “Trident Juncture 18 will have an Article 5 (collective defense) scenario, and will be under the command of Admiral James G. Foggo, Commander of Joint Force Command Naples.”
All OSCE nations will be able to send observers, the statement added.
Under Article 5, collective defense means an attack on one ally is considered as an attack against all allies, according to ukdefencejournal.
