The Eurosatory Defense & Security International Exhibition, the world's largest and most important exhibition for land and airland weapon systems, was held in Paris this week. This year, the Defense Export & Defense Cooperation (SIBAT) Division of the Israel Ministry of Defense has produced one of the largest national pavilions presented at the exhibition. The Israeli pavilion presented fifty-two large and small Israeli industries. This is a record number of industries, and the exhibitors will present the latest and most advanced technologies and products for the defense, cyber and homeland security fields. Twenty-one additional Israeli industries exhibited their products and services outside of the Israeli pavilion, which brings the total number of Israel industries participating in this year's exhibition to a record number of 73.

The technologies presented at this year's exhibition included solutions for robotics, air defense, border protection, armored vehicles, personal protective gear, small arms, equipment for special forces, electro-optical systems, surveillance systems, and more. A special exhibit highlighted eleven companies engaged in the development of unique HLS solutions. Additionally, the SIBAT Division allocated a dedicated locality to small and medium enterprises.

The Head of SIBAT, Brig. Gen. (res.) Michel Ben-Baruch, said at the opening ceremony of the Israeli pavilion, "In 2017 we witnessed an all-time record in Israeli defense exports. The significant challenges facing Israeli defense exports around the world notwithstanding, this groundbreaking industry delivers innovation. Our advantage opposite the superpowers is in our quality and cutting-edge technology."

"The Israeli defense industry offers an extensive range of state-of-the-art technological solutions for the defense/security threats facing the world's countries, and the massive attendance of Israeli defense industries at Eurosatory proves that. At the same time, we are aware of the on-going intensification of the competition in the international market, which increases the need for extended industrial cooperation between Israeli and foreign companies. We at SIBAT initiate and develop international agreements and cooperative alliances between our industries and foreign governments and in many cases between governments (G2G) too, while promoting knowledge transfer and local manufacturing projects in cooperation with local industries around the globe."

Israeli Ambassadress to France, Aliza Ben-Nun, said at the ceremony, "The Israeli attendance is a cause for national pride."
