Aeronautics announced today that its chairman, Maj. Gen. (res.) Eitan Ben-Eliyahu has informed the company's board of directors of his resignation after six years in office. The board appointed Maj. Gen. (res.) Yedidya Yaari as Ben-Eliyahu's successor.
Ben-Eliyahu was appointed as chairman in 2012 when the company was in deep crisis and led to an intricate recovery process, which led to a dramatic improvement in the company's performance. Accordingly, the company's results and performance have improved. Ben-Eliyahu will assist in the orderly transfer of the office to his successor, the company emphasized.
"After six years in office, I resign from my role as chairman of Aeronautics and embark on a new stage in my affairs," Ben-Eliyahu said.
The board of directors thanked Ben-Eliyahu for the arduous years he devoted to the company and for leading it from a deep crisis to high levels of revenues and profits, and to anchor its position as a global leader in the field of UAVs and other fields.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Yedidya Yaari previously served as commander of the IDF Navy (2000-2004). Upon his retirement, he served as CEO of Rafael (2004-2016) and led it to considerable achievements and outstanding results. Yaari will assume office immediately.
