IMI Defense, an Israeli developer, and manufacturer of tactical weapons accessories, components and parts, presented the Kidon – a modular conversion platform for pistols – for the first time publically at IWA 2018. The Kidon pistol installation turns the gun into a long weapon that allows for greater precision during firing.

The Kidon accepts over 100 different pistols like SIG SAUER, GLOCK, CZ, and many more. A simple interchangeable adapter located in the rear of the platform allows the change between different pistol manufacturers. The Kidon Universal Pistol Conversion Kit comes in a designated case with AR15/M16 Mil-Spec 6 position TS-2 Buttstock, polymer flip-up sights – Rear and Front, FSG1 Front Support Grip, IMI Defense sling, QD port and Allen key, and a manual.

"We have identified a need in the security and civil markets for a more reliable system than the ones currently available, as well as a modular kit that can accommodate a large number of different pistols," said Nisim Zusman, owner of IMI Defense. "The company's vision is always to see the needs of the market and offer the ultimate solution. Customers in the security and civilian markets are always looking for unique, creative solutions with the highest level of design. We receive excellent feedback from our customers.

"The Kidon platform is sold to security customers and private customers worldwide. After three years of activity in these markets, the product proved to be number one, surpassing all our competitors. We have seen sales of thousands of units per year, and we expect the same results in the future. IMI Defense continues to develop the Kidon platform, and next year we will be able to introduce a more advanced generation suitable for many more types of pistols."
