APG, an Israeli designer and manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems, announced it has recently closed a $3 million financing round with private investors. In a few weeks, the company plans to unveil a new UAS, which they say is "the first of its kind in the world – a groundbreaker in technology, operations, and logistics."

In addition to APG’s independent product development, the company provides engineering, aerospace engineering, and consulting services to the Israeli Ministry of Defense and aircraft development companies, and collaborates with partners in developing solar UASs. In November 2016, APG conducted Israel’s first-ever successful test-flight of a solar-powered UAS. The solar UAS is under development and scale-up, with the goal of developing the full-scale model, and engineering expected to begin in the coming months.

APG CEO Yair Dubester, who previously headed IAI's UAS Division, said, "The company’s leadership and team capabilities, experience, and reputation, in addition to the impressive products being developed to drive the future, make a compelling value proposition. Because of all these factors, our fundraising was simple and quick. In light of our vision and expertise, our investors are enthusiastic about our plans and understand the tremendous potential of our UAS, which we will be launching soon."
