A New Line of Testing & Maintenance Stations For Night Vision Devices

Israeli night vision device manufacturer Troya Tech Defense has recently developed a series of testing stations for its products which can also be used to test NVDs by other manufacturers.

Military and specialist forces worldwide use NVDs (Night Vision Devices) during operations. These devices contain electronic and optical components which require regular maintenance in order to maintain their performance and ensure the integrity of the optical system. Accordingly, NVD manufacturers recommend regular periodic testing (before employment and every month / 6 months / 12 months, according to different criteria and the purpose of the actual test).

"In response to the demands of several customers who were aware that we possess this capability, we have developed new testing stations for NVDs and upgraded the stations already in use, so that they would fit not only our products, but devices by other manufacturers who did not possess the testing and analysis capabilities until now," Said Tomer Snir, Troya Tech's CMO. "With these stations, our clients can maintain the devices they already use and prolong their service life so as to avoid unnecessary replacement. We currently offer stations adapted for any stage of the product's life, starting from pre-use, testing for operational readiness just before boarding the vehicle or helicopter, to stations that support maintenance and refurbishment of older devices," added Snir.

The night vision market is saturated with manufacturers, each one of which offers different specialty products. Testing stations for these systems, on the other hand, are only manufactured by a small number of specialist companies. A government client from North America has recently ordered a large number of GNG (Go-No-Go) testing stations, designed to determine the readiness of NVDs just before employment.
