Sky Sapience to Deliver HoverMast-100 to IDF

IsraelDefense has learned that the Israeli company Sky Sapience will deliver the first HoverMast-100 hovercraft system in the coming weeks.

The company recently concluded the development of the hovercraft, which can be deployed in the field by ordinary soldiers in a quick and convenient manner, without requiring knowledge about operating UAVs. In the first stage, a pilot will be carried out in various sectors,  and based on inputs, additional systems are expected to be introduced in IDF service.

The system consists of a hovering mast that can work without time limitations and in every weather and terrain conditions.  The hovercraft is connected to a power supply on the ground (a generator, stationed with the system) and it can be installed on any vehicle.

The hovercraft is capable of carrying very heavy payloads, compared to its size. If required, a soldier can simply press a button, and the hovercraft rises by itself and keeps itself in the air. It is connected to an easy-to-operate screen within the vehicle, and can reach a height of up to 50 meters, and track the vehicle while driving.

Sky Sapience was founded three years ago by Brig. Gen. (Res.) Gabi Shahor, who served in the IAF and was commander of the Israeli Palmachim base, and two engineers, Shai Cohen and Ronen Keidar. The Israeli Ministry of Defense's MAFAT division selected the company as the sole developer of these systems.
