Sig Sauer Firearms to be Distributed Exclusively by Mitvach Hair
Israel Defense has recently learned that the Mitvach Hair Company of Israel won exclusive distribution rights in Israel for Sig Sauer Firearms. Among other products, the Israeli company will distribute such new and unique firearms as the P320 and P938 handguns and the M400 tactical rifle. Sig Sauer handguns are distributed in Israel as kits that include iron sights with tritium inserts, an improved trigger and an extended magazine release.

Sig Sauer handguns are intended for left and right-handed shooters. The ergonomically designed handgun frame is polymer, the magazine release may be converted for left-handed shooters and the slide stop is ambidextrous. The handguns have a striker-fired operating system.

Mitvach Hair is currently competing for the tender issued by the Israel Police for the supply of service handguns to replace the Jericho handguns currently in use. The Israel Defense website had reported (November 22, 2015) that the Israel Police intended to purchase 15,000 9mm handguns of three types (full size, carry and compact) as well as 15,000 5.56mm caliber assault and marksman-type rifles in the M4 configuration that may be fitted with riot control accessories. In addition to Mitvach Hair, competitors for this tender include IWI with their Jericho handguns, and the MRD Ephraim Company – distributors of Glock Firearms in Israel. At the present time, the contender firearms are being evaluated by the Israel Police and the results are expected to be announced by this summer.
